Forums - Microsoft - Can these 4 exclusives hold the fort against the assault of KZ2 in Q1?

Star Ocean, while a excellent series, isn't exactly a multi-platinum hit, so I don't see a huge surge of console sales here. (a nice temporary boost in Japan, that's it)

 

You would also think nearly everyone that wanted to buy a PS3 for FPS games would have bought one for Resistance 2 this Christmas?  Honestly how many of them are going to wait a few months after Christmas to buy one?

As for the rest of the PS3 games coming out, which ones will actually do much for the system?  Naruto and Yakuza will give the PS3 a boost in Japan but so will Star Ocean for 360.

That doesn't have a whole lot to do with what I say other then you trying to say "ooh oh, the PS3 though..."

I could care less which system sells more, I'm just pointing out the flaw of each of the 4 games he listed. Would it ease your mind if I pointed out the issues with Killzone 2 as well?

However, with what you just put, Killzone 2 has way more hype then Resistance 2 does. I have friends who have a mild interest in gaming but keep asking me is "Killzone 2 out yet", but they would likely not know what Resistance is. (yes I realize this is anecdotal) Your remark about Resistance is also flawed because comparing Genres to an actual Franchise is not the same thing.

Halo wars? SRPG selling well on console? No

Star ocean 4? What JRPG sells well on 360, add to that the star ocean series isnt particularly big..NO

and GTA IV DLC ofcourse it will outsell it, depends on price though.

nothing can turn the ps3 around in the course it has taken. If sony lowers the price, microsoft will just lower the xbox 360's price again. If sony releases killzone 2 to critical praise, and commercial success, microsoft will just release Halo ODST 2 months later to x3 sales.

Alan...... Wake up. The end of that game trailer has me confient Alan Wake will be one of the biggest hits of 09'. So, another ace in microsofts hand.

What I am really interested in is the psp... Sony is going to (hopefully) start re-supporting it. Well, loco roco 2 is getting a release, at least.

Thats what people said when the 360 wasnt 199..

I think all 3 console will end up selling a very high amount, and this may be the 1st generation when all 3 console sell more than anyone expects..

After seeing PS3 owners not buy Valkyria Chronicles, I don't want to ever hear PS3 owners complain about the lack of JRPGs on the system. Resistance 2 and LBP have still posted decent sales. The Valkyria Chronicles sales are a crime
