Aren't the ones you like better widely regarded as the superiors? Gears 2 didn't get as high reviews but every reviewer said it was better and I don't hear many people disagreeing with that. also I thought twilight princess was thought to be better then wind waker but maybe not.

I would also say (and I think most would agree):

Halo 2 > Halo 1 > Halo 3

I never played Wind Waker, so I can't comment on that though.
