crysis graphics are amazing, wonder how will the PS3 version will look like when it comes out in 2009

That said, one thing really missing from this thread is a specifications of resolutions.

Most open environment, action intensive games on Ps360 run a lowish resolutions: COD4 1024x600 (0.62MP); MGS4 1024x768 (0.79MP) both of which are less than 1280x720 (0.92MP) and they then compare it to whatever resolution the PC gamer they are talking with uses, which is quite likely to be more than that.

We need the PS3 (or 360) guys to give us pics of a game with a know resolution and framerate and then the PC guys change their resolution to the closest they can (in megapixels as their monitor may be 5:4 or 4:3) and crank the details as high as they can until they hit the same kind of framerate. Then the comparison can be a little bit more like apple to oranges rather than apple to tuna fish.

yea crysis is gorgeous blah blah... and PC's are gorgeous..blah blah..

but temme how  smooth would crysis  run on a PC developed in 2005 or a $200-400 PC now?

Man, looking at these pictures of Crysis, and uncharted, and GT5 make me think one thing. Why is everybody harping on the wii??? It looks just as good as any of these games! Look...

These are technically just as good (and in some cases better) as any of those games shown, people are just trying to justify buying their 20,000 dollar PCs and their PS3rds. This shit looks good, call me when you take your fanboy glasses off.

Qualify that with a HD in front as the Wii caters to a different market still (with overlap in all 3 markets).

The reason some PC owners compare Crysis graphics to Ps3 graphics and say the latter suck is the same PS3 owners compare PS3 graphics to Wii graphics and say the latter suck.

At least the PC/HD consoles comparison are less disingenuous as the HD consoles pretend to HD quality while routinely falling short (though still being good enough for most).

Another trend I noticed here. I love how all the HD owners come and bitch about how much their graphics are better than the Wii's come and get so ridiculously defensive about how their graphics are worse than the PC's. Heads up, HD consoles used to cost how much more than the Wii? Same exact argument as the PC cost to run Crysis argument.

How is this a valid point?
