The last one is real funny.  Because he just gives up and uses a macro power.

Those videos just made the game seem that much cooler :D

Watch the full gameplay video.  You'll see him miss... a lot.

How is that necessarily a problem?   It could be intended that you need to throw a shit-ton of lightning around because it's not supposed to be all that accurate.  Depending on how the energy/regeneration system works, taking more shots could work and one-shot-kills wouldn't.

Taking more shots is certainly more exciting and looks better.  Which may also be a reason they posted video of a player taking lots of shots.

Anyway.

It would be bad because to be a good guy you need to have "surgical percision." to make sure you don't cause much collateral damage.

It's not him wanting to cause colataral damage either... because you can see him missing multiple times on a roof where there is no damage to cause.

A good superhero may not have surgical precision with his powers.  He then needs to either confront enemies away from innocents, or weigh the costs of innocent deaths vs the benefits of nuking a bad guy.

Yeah... the needing "Surgical percision" was directly taken from the Devs mouth.

Whoah, that's a completely different reason than the ones you were giving before.

I think my points still stand.

I bet you that the game won't come out both requiring precision to play a good character and lacking any semblance of precision.  Period.

You need surgical percision to play as a good guy was my original arguement.

This came directly from the Devs mouth.

How does it coming from the Devs mouth change anything?

Crakdown was garbage. Too Human was ok.

Infamous will be better, but not Saint's Row great.

IGN is full of shit. This has been proven countless times. The same company that said sony's quick fix was a price cut? what a joke!

Except that would be a quick fix for Sony. Sony might not be able to afford it right now but it's the only thing that would jump their sales back up to competitive levels.

Have you paid attention to the news lately? Sony has a city's worth of employess (180,000 exactly) and they're losing their jobs one after the other. Thats a ton of unemployed people. The last time I checked, the ps3 was still a loss-leading product. You expect sony to sell it at an even greater loss so the company can collapse? Don't you realize that if the ps3 sales suddenly broke out that'd mean even more and greater losses for a company in a crisis right now.

You might mention the long term but in reality, sony needs help RIGHT NOW. A move like that would be suicidal. Besides, ps3 has more expensive hardware packed in period. It's just unrealistic to expect it to be sold at the same price point as the 360 or wii. If consumers don't like it, then it was a bad decision from the start and this gen is lost but there's always next time. Trying to salvage a losing battle by comitting suicide is the epitome of EPIC FAILURE!

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I think, conceptually, precision isn't necessary to play a good superhero.  I thought you were saying it was, and that the game didn't deliver.  If instead a dev says that precision is necessary within this game, to avoid killing innocents or whatever, fine.  (Just means the game doesn't include other ways to avoid killing them besides good aim, and doesn't require as much moral balancing as it could.)  In light of the apparent dev comment, though, I think it very likely that what they wanted to show onscreen was a lot of firepower and flash, not careful precision.  What was shown onscreen, therefore, wouldn't imply that the controls make playing a good guy impracticable.

Unless you watch all the screens including ones where they are fighting and there is no flash and they still miss... a LOT.

Look at the other vids.  What's the "Flash" in that first one.

Another GREAT AA PS3 game. :)

PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

It looks meh to me at the moment, nothing special... I mean every time I see it I think "The Force Unleashed" but now in an open world... sure it should be longer then TFU was but TFU wasn't bad if you're a Star Wars fan and the story did good service to those fans much better then episodes 1-3, this story from what I've read is about as interesting as the comic strip Dilbert... so this game would have to have some damn good gameplay to interest me.
