...So you think expat growth in Japan has increased 4-5 fold that made Fable 2 sell 30,000 units on day-1, while Fable 1 sold 13,000 over it's entire lifetime?

No. I think it's that Japanese that buy a X360 for RPGs buy it for....RPGs - even Western ones. No other system has seen the kind of WRPG success the X360 has had.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Very good numbers all around. A little low for ToH (I think) and GM2 for the X360.

Otherwise, it's a robust market. And holy crap @ Fable 2 - it doubled Fable 1's LTD in a day.

Amazing that it'd do that. Western RPGs have an Eastern home on the X360.

Considering Fable was launched on "The Shooterbox", a system that was really dead on Japan, below 500k LTD and only selling Halo, DOA and NG games... The 360 is not doing really great, but it's doing a lot better than the Xbox, and has a lot of J-appealing games, especially JRPGs, so those 360 owners are more interested in a WRPG than with the Xbox...

Dissidia RULES! =)
PSP FTW!
1 mln. in next several weeks is a high possibility.

Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Suikoden is what surprises me the most.

Hey and i called Dissidia being about Crisis Core first day... go me.

Best reason to get that game is crazy clown magic.

Say there even a full character list yet?

I'm surprised that the PS3 version of GM2 outsold the PS2 version.

Eveything else sells very well.

Joysound could be huge or just die off.

Yep.

It's the protaganist of every FF game 1-10 along with the villian of each.

Then we have Shanatto and Gabranth from  FF XI and FF XII respectively.

It doesn't surprise me too much.  I mean that's a great market for PS3... anime nerds.

I'm pretty sure Blu-ray released anime editions do great... and PS3 plays blu-ray.

Hence why i'm still hoping against hope the Super Robot Wars games end up on the PS3.

Yeah, figured they might throw in a few extras where needed though.

I mean Terra is really only the protaganist of the first half of FF6....

Of course that was the real awesomeness of that game... it's of very few games where the story telling isn't centered around 1 character.
