Forums - Gaming Discussion - 1up Boogie review, its not pretty.

It's obviously biased. Lamers want some attention. Nothing more. Controls are fine. I would prefer classic but this are pretty fair and accurate.

Do you know someone that worked on it?  I've noticed whenever someone puts down EA you usually defend the people working there.  Actually I have to ask, are you an EA employee or worked for them in the past?   I'm asking because I'm pretty sure you mentioned before that you're in game development and I remember you mentioning one time about game developers in the building you're in that have worked on or are currently working on Wii games.

Seriously who uses 1up for Wii reviews? They pretty much blatantly hate the system and motion controls in general.

Really?

This is a fabrication of Wii fans.

Good Wii games get good reviews from 1up, bad ones such as this get bad reviews.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I don't work there but I know a few people that do (though they work on EA sports titles). I do work in the game industry (scripter/level designer) but I'm all the way in Texas working on a game that's going to make the internet explode when it gets announced.

As for that quote, just so people don't get confused, I was mocking that thread and the fact this one would turn into that except people didn't already have high hopes for Boogie (though I'll still more than likely at least give it a rent).

It's biased cause it's not what you want it to be? You sound exactly like the Sony fanboys who cried bias at the Lair review.

Out of curiosity, have you played the game to know the controls?

Please, don't accuse reviews of bias if you don't like them.

Edit: I didn't know you were trying to be sarcastic, sorry :P

Guys, lets wait for a bunch of reviews to hit first. We know a bunch of sites traditionally "hard-mark" Wii titles - especially Wiimote heavy ones.

And this won't be a title whose sales are swayed by reviews - at all. Its a pure casual title, that anyone can play - and "hard-core" gamers would probably steer away from due to embarrassment!

Give this a month or two, then we can judge its performance. As I have already mentioned (in another thread), I will almost certainly be buying this - although not for myself (basically 0% interest in it).

Read my above comment :-p

That's actually a quote from someone who posted in the linked thread.

Even with the bad reviews I still plan to give this game a try.  I swing/blues dance (badly >_>) and I have a lot of dancer friends and this looks like something we'll have fun with.

Show me proof of this.

Well, I do think they struggle to review casual games -- they have admitted as such explicitly -- but that's not unusual for any gaming site or mag. I think they're quite fair given that they're enthusiast gamers reviewing games for people like them.

Heh, the sad part is that it's actually happening in this thread.  I remember Wii fans giving PS3 fans a really hard time over Lair and the way they were acting about that review and now it seems like the same thing is happening with Boogie.  Fans of all consoles are more alike than they would ever admit to or even realize.
