Yea well if any battle was brutal in the console wars, it was Genesis vs SNES. Closest one and definitely the most punches thrown.

SNES winning by 20 million =/= close.

it was closer in America then 20 million and Sega had a lead for at least a few years before Nintendo blew them out of the water. Problem for Sega is they couldn't break into the Japanese market. Back in the early 90's japan was the second biggest market and very close to north America in total sales of hardware and software.
