Forums - Sales - VG Chartz does not track Wal Mart?

No one can track WalMart sales, everyone estimates them.

Because Walmart is evil and destroying America one store at a time.

I'm not kidding.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Walmart has the biggest commercial database in the world, they know exactly the amounts they are selling. That information has value so they don't give it out.

That's true. It probably cost a lot of that info, which is why NPD isn't paying for it. I don't know if NPD does an estimate for Wal-Mart or not. No chances are good that the software and hardware sales are undertrack for all the numbers provided. It depends on the time of the year and the estimate as well. It's very hard for any company to track all the sales accurately as a whole.

We estimate how much Walmart sells, so that isn't being left out from the total.

The reason is simply (at least I believe so, I have no clue really, just a moron who thinks he has a clue :P) that ioi doesn't have an arrangement to collect data from them. There is no reason ioi would not want to get it, so it is

A) Walmart doesn't know exactly how much they sell and such

B) They want money for it

C) They don't feel like publishing it to VGChartz.

Walmart tracks everysingle item they sell in their database and its updates instantly. They proably dont want to freely give away sales figures to just anyone.

I can't beleive people buy games at Wal Mart. I can always find games cheaper then there.

Walmart Canada has some decent prices.  Before the CAD reach parity with the USD many new Wii games were $59.99.  Once the USD and CAD were about equal Walmart dropped the price on all of their games (i.e. about $49 for new games).  Most other retailers did not drop the price on their old stock.  So games like MP3, TP and others still cost $59.99.  Sadly an EB Games still tries to sell used copies of MP and TP for $54.99 when they are beside a Walmart who sells both new for $49.

what a great thread. A claim made with no evidence to back it up, and the actual post contains exactly 1 word.

Well done. 0/10

According to most of the posts in this thread, my claim, that I read in another thread, is true.

Well done. 0/10

well at the very least provide a link to the other thread. All you did was start a thread and type "Why?"

Walmart...taking over the world, but not telling anyone how

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
