Your number 1 game does not necessarily have to of received the highest scores. Please tell me why? Is it because it most fun and the most hours played? Review scores count for little these days and the reviewers are just critics just like me and you.

My favourite game of 2008 is Fifa 2009. I love football (soccer) simulation games. Fifa 2009 is the best sports simulation game I have ever played. The graphics and controls and options in the game are excellent. Fifa 2009 destroys PES 2009.

Gears of War 2, with Fable 2 a close second

1) Fifa 2009 does not even come close to PES 2008 on Wii. That game is the best sports game ever created. And it came out this year. Though, you may not have played it... Or maybe the controls were over your head...

2) Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the best game I have played this year. More replay value and variety than any other console game made this year, a strong community, and strong game play (I know people will hate it but whatever... Melee and Brawl can co-exist).

3) 2008 is not over and I have yet to get my copy of Tatsunoko vs Capcom. That game might just take my top spot.

It may just be Super Street Fighter II HD Remix. I dream about playing that game when I'm at work. Capcom may just revive the fighting genre if Street Fighter IV is as good!

I was extremely hyped for this game ever since we saw the first trailer (I put like every waking minute into speculation and hype for this game during the last 6 months or so before release), and it delivered on every level.

God I loved it.....GOTY as far as Im concerned.

Cant wait for the sequel.

Gears of war 2. The first 2 acts are 'meh' but after that its all blown-out action and its better than LBP probably its biggest contender.

Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart take equal first for me
