By now one should know that retailers' expected release dates for upcoming games that don't have official release dates aren't all that reliable. But after searching the internets and coming across the way long delayed (yet rather anticipated) Splinter Cell Conviction popping up at retailers with a similar February release, well ... we just had to share.

Online retailers including Amazon.com and Gamestop have Splinter Cell Conviction posted with an expected release date of February 2, 2009. Though, the February release doesn't quite gel with Ubisoft's earlier fiscal talk that made it clear Conviction wouldn't be available until April 2009 at the earliest. So, February 2nd doesn't seem all that likely, unless retailers know something we don't. And if that's the case, we're pointing an angry finger at Ubisoft.

Yes, and according to amazon UK says that Final Fantasy XIII is coming out on April 30th 2009

April would be better. They would have 4 months to advertise and hype this game. We will see.

It would be amazing if this game was coming out in just over a month, and no one has seen anything on it. Unless the VGA's show it, and then we get more press on a release date, I will put this in the no way in hell pile.

Personally I don't think we are going to see this game tell around august or spetember of next year, and I highly expect that it will end up multiplatform. Ubisoft has already created a fanbase on each platfrom, and taking the game away from one after they already established the franchise on the platform would be a very bad decision.

april or may would be better i think, cause sales could be higher since not alot of games come out around those months.

i was reading about a month ago where the developers wasn't satisfied with the way certain parts of the story was unfolding. maybe there just working on bringing the story along better...
