Square enix is a good choice... perhaps with KH 3

I extreemly doubt they will release kh3 on the wii, the game is going to be epic, if is released on the wii I wouldnt care I would still buy it, as long as  its not an handhelds or 360 Im good. When are they going to reveal xehanort?

Ubisoft for sure.

MGS FF13 will never come to the wii, those games are very dependent on powerfull hardware. Spin offs sure but not the actual MGS4 or FF13

Well MGS1-3 and FF1-12 were all on systems weaker than Wii. I wasn't  predicting they'd come to Wii though but rather that projects similiar in scale and ambition could be done on Wii for cheaper and looking at Wii hardware sales, bring in more profit.

When mgs4 is released there wont be anymore after it.

I have a theory about SE. They weren't taking the Wii seriously and put a few token games with their lowers-tier dev teams in production. Then the Wii started selling, so they rushed DQ:Swords out the door (overall pretty crappy game), then Chocobo Mystery Dungeon is next (solid fun but low production) and now they've taken the time to completely rework what they were doing for FFCC which was originally supposed to be this fall and now won't be until next year some time. I have a hunch FFCC is going to very closely resemble a main series FF game in terms of gameplay, production value, etc.

I was thinking about this today. They don't need to put Final fantasy XIII or XIV on the wii, they can just cheap-ass FF XIII and use their resources (time, money, etc) in final fantasy CC.

Sqaure Enix. I have a feeling in the third year of the Wii's life they'll throw an incredible amount of money behind a new RPG project. Square loves making money, and the Wii is this gens money maker.

I just have a feeling.

By life end:

  • Wii- 100 million+
  • Xbox360- 35~40 million
  • PS3- 30 million
  • PSP- 30~32 million ------------- FAILURE
  • NDS- 85~90 million (Skeptical)  - FAILURE
  • NDS- 100 million+ (Optimistic) -- Success!

That's what they said about MGS3.

I think all the top 3rd partys will have plans to release AAA titles and get a chunk of the market share for the Wii. All Japanese companys like Sega, Capcom, Namco etc will definetly put a lot of resources into games for Nintendo.

As far as development budgets:

SE has FF:CC in the works that looks pretty high budget.

Red Steel 2 will probably have a higher dev. budget than one did.

Samurai Warriors Katana doesn't look cheap.

Some multi-plat games: MoH2, EA Sports, etc.

But I don't think there is ever going to be much. The whole idea is that developers can make games on the cheap.

Cheap yes, but only in comparison with 360/PS3 games. I see no reason why budgets which were reached on last gen consoles can't be matched if not exceeded on Wii. FF is definately one of the bigger projects but I still wouldn't say it will be up there with the PS2 FF games as at the end ofthe day it's a spin-off. Red Steel is a possibility, on a slightly different topic though I can't see this game receiving the same hype as KillZone2 even though they're both based on average first installments.

I think there will be some more Big ones, like RE4 was on GCN but much more than GCN had.  But I still stand by my prediction that 3/4 of the 3rd party games will seem even lower budget than last gen.  Lot's of casual titles... but I think casual titles will get big and better too as they as that field gets more competitive (better looking, more features, online capabilities, peripherals, etc).

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

They said the same thing after MGS2.
