I'm having a hard time figuring out what to get my wife this year for her birthday (today) and Christmas, she's been unusually mum about what she wants.  Games and movies are no no (straight from her mouth).  She's pregnant so lingerie is kinda out of the question as well :(.  She has several unused spa gift certificates and I just bought her a watch for our 1 yr anniversary. 

Married men:  What are you getting your wives for Christmas?

My girlfriend wants a book, I askd her what book and she said "suprise me"

I have no clues at all, I know she likes Richard Dawkins, but I don't think buying a book about hating god sends the right message. Women are hard lol

My wife loves clothes (any type, so hoodies, sweat pants, shirts, ...)

I'm probably going to pick up a pair of boots and a vest or something, as she points out tons of things she would like and I just have to choose a couple.

as for your wife, does she have any hobbies that you could buy something for?

Watch, perfume, clothes, ornament....i dont even have a wife!

Perfume... it always works IMO... and I know from many reliable sources ( read: women ) who agree with me :P

Jewelry always works. I'm not talking watches. I'm talking Diamonds and precious stones.

Another thing you can try is doing something awesome around the house for her and then get a smaller gift if you can't afford the Jewelry.

A bunch of nice smelling candles and bath-stuff always does the trick.

Speaking from another pregnant womans perspective: Jewelry, jewelry jewelry. Something with the babies birthstone would be wonderful, but then again due dates change so you don't want to get it and have the baby born the following month. Even a necklace that says 'mom' would be really cute. [I'm pregnant ok these are things I would like, lol]

If that's too expensive though, get her something personal...As she's pregnant get her a nice blanket to snuggle up with as a smaller gift [heated blankets are a no-no for pregnant women], a picture frame for the babies first picture....How far along is she? Because depending on how far along she is I can give you different suggestions.

And I know you nixed the lingerie idea but pregnant women want to feel sexy too, and it'd probably make her feel great about herself if you got her lingerie right now considering she's probably feeling fat[you can find lingerie made for pregnant women on the internet, I can link you a few sites if you like]

Materinity clothes are also a good idea [but save the receipt women are picky]

Anyway, I can probably come up with a million more ideas if you don't like any of these.
