Xen I think wii would be a better choice to go with you ps3. As xbox360 is to similar to the ps3, but if you really dislike nintendo games, go with 360.

This is coming from a guy who has mostly 360 games in his next generation library.

I need a new ps2, mine is an old model and will break if I play dvds in it. So I've only used it for games. I think it's a laser problem or something. It was a big deal at one time.

 

I'd just get a pure DVD player... cheap as hell now. My fat PS2 has been going for 5,5 years with no problems.

How's the BC for Halo 1&2, KoToR 1&2, and Jade Empire? any idea dude?

 

Well, I use my old reg. xbox as a dvd player (I have a hella lot of consoles) anyway, but the problem worries me anyhow.

 

Well, KOTOR 2 wasn't so bad, some pop in, but playable. God awful controls though. No wonder I liked the pc version :P

I completed fable on there, I think it was a flawless conversion. Other people think not though:

Well that's blatantly false.  your statement necessitates that only one person is interested in each other game on the PS3 otherwise you are just talking out of your ass.  So here, myself and Outlawauron are interested in WKC.  What say you to that?

As for recommendations, I'd say Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Dead Rising. You can probably pick up any of them for pretty cheap now.
