Forums - Sales - Prediction: RE5 will be the worst selling RE in Japan

Not much of a prediction. Next gen hardware sales sucks in Japan. Even if it was the best RE ever it probably wouldn't sell that good over there just cus there arent many PS3's or 360's.

Not really, the game will sell more in the western world. Lose sales in Japan but gain many more sales in the west. Is an excellent business move.

Still it's a pity for fans of the series.

 REmake is one of the best games ever. RE5 be like Gears of War, even more shooter than RE4. It's really sad, cause the series used to be hardcore.

I think it'll have more to do with the userbase of the HD consoles in Japan?

I think this game could suprise poeple by its popularity. Not only is it being made by Capcom it is also an established franchise which has a legion of follower even in Japan who will buy this the first day regardless.

It will sell less due to userbase.

I liked the old RE's on the PS, but RE4 was just soooo much better. I think exchanging a few scares for, y'know, good gameplay is a fair trade...

Yeah the tank controls were always a huge turn off for me personally.

Japan didn't have Gears of War 2 released, RE5 will be a good substitute =P

But seriously? it'll probably the worst selling one... too much western themes in it... and the userbase the games are released on are not as big as with other RE's.. plus... not a difference of night and day as prevous RE's compared to RE4 are.

RE4 is great, but please try the Gamecube REmake.
I agree that the gameplay has improved dramatically and I accept that that implies that I can't have the scary camera views. But WHY do they have to give me tons of ammo, tons of herbs and no puzzles? It just ruins the experience.

Seriously, when I finished REmake for the first time I had exactly 12 bullets left.
