Socom is so fraud I can't even begin to describe it. Maybe it will be good after they fix the bugs, but right now don't even bother with it.

R2... You may also want to look into Dead Space that as a shooter.

Metal Gear Solid 4 isn't a first, third, arcade, or any type of shooter what so ever.

It's an action game, played in a 3rd person perspective, like most traditional action games are...

ON TOPIC: Resistance 2 if you want some Multiplayer awesomeness.

Bioshock or DeadSpace if a cool single player experience is what you want. [Resistance 2's Single player is also fairly well done]

Yep, for the PS3 it's Resistance 2 or World at War. Personally, the single player in WaW is significantly better than R2, but R2 makes up a lot of ground with its revolutionary online modes.

Now, the best shooter overall this holiday season is easily Gears of War 2 or L4D(depending on if you are an online or offline type of guy). Neither of those games are on the PS3, but I thought I'd mention them because of the thread title.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

 

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.
