First off a 60 dollar game is not 6 million in revenue, much like a 50 dollar game is not 5 million in revenue, and as you said it's a multiplatform game, which means 360 and PS3 shares development cost and Wii - PS2 shares development costs, overall the 10 dollar difference IS to make up for the added development cost on the 360 - PS3, this has been said plenty of times by MS and Sony themselves.

As far as the original question, I forgot to answer, I'll say FFXIII, MGS4 and GTA4 are the only ones that I see being sure 3rd party million sellers on the system, sure UT3, CoD4, Madden, etc can be too, but it'd be way more difficult, I'm gonna say MGS4 or GTA4, whichever comes out first.

lol. your wrong. 60 dollar game x 100k is 6 million in revenue.

revenue is not profit, so how much they spent on developement , shipping cost, commission to game stores don't matter.(those are expense)

Gross profit = Sales - Cost of Goods

Revenue -expense = profit.

You have the right idea, but you are wrong.

- PES2008 could be it BUT PES2008 is coming to PS2 too ...

- GTA4 for sre (in 2008 so)

- MGS4 too

and for Xmas, I think only Unchartred or HeavenlySword could do something.

Time to Work !

Sony(I think) makes 1 dollar profit for 3rd party games, and for 1st party they make around 20buks each that they sell, so resistance made a heafty 40million dollars for sony, you see the games that they sell give them the profit, as well as the psn games which they sell for 8 buks and they make 4buks on each, and the developer gets the other half per sold.  As for ps1 games that money goes to them directly.

Actually, Sony/MS make around $5 per 3rd party title, and $40 per 1st party.

Actual revenue for games vary - if a game sells 100k copies thats $60 doesn't mean it makes $6m. Why? The publisher isn't selling the games for this price. Remember retail markup? Actual revenue to a developer is around $45 for a next-gen title, and $37.50 for a Wii title.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

okI'm going to be the smartass on that one... but both of you are wrong :) eilei you are almost right except it's the retailer's revenue you are giving not Ms's or nintendo's one :) but you are right on your calcule and all.... you just need to find out how much MS and Nintendo are selling the games to the wholsalers :D they don't give retro comission to game stores well I don't know in USA I never worked in a game store here but in europe they don't we just pay the wholesaler 90 days after purshase... I'm pretty sure it's the same worldwide.... but no money is then going back the other way... :)

sorry I just felt like being a smarty pants..... well it eases the atmosphere among all those crazy posts going on on the forums lol

well they are ti's the richest biggest in the world... so the answer is yes :)... and I think the most studios is Ubisoft... correct me if I'm wrong anybody

EA has the most studios and games.
Ubisoft is second.

As far as first party, Sony has the most first party studios. (i think its 15.)
Not sure how much Microsoft Game Studios have ....
Does Nintendo have many studios or just one in America, Europe, and Japan.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

I would have said Madden and GTA IV, but now GTA IV is delayed so that's next year.

So that leaves Madden as the third party million seller candidate.

Next year, GTA IV and MGS 4 are the two strong candidates.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I wasn't sure in term of employee for EA... I'm 100% certain ubisoft has more studios around the world.... I use to leave next door from the old headquarter in france..... they say 2nd but it's in staff they have 15 studios and EA has 11.... it doesn't really matter.... I'm just letting you know :)
