WOW. Just. WOW. Manhunt 2 got moved out of 2007. I think the controversy isn't going to help sales anymore.
What? GTA IV? I had a feeling about it being moved, but I expected December.
Yikes. It's good that Take2 is pulling it back, no one wants a half-finished game (read: Hour of Victory). However, this significantly sacrifices the bonus in sales for the holiday season.
The PS3 and 360 DO have other games to fall back on, but this was a pretty huge one, if not the biggest release they were going to see this year. The Wii may have just been presented the opportunity to steal this holiday season.

There are a good number of people that want to buy the console specifically for that game so why would they buy a console and no game? If you think well why don't they just buy another game? then you have to ask why they didn't buy the console earlier?
Wii just won this autumm, no way that Halo3 alone will fight of Nintendo.

Out of curiosity, anyone know the OFICCIAL release dates for PS3 games this holiday season? I only remember Lair and Heavenly Sword.

UT3 and Haze were announced exclusive "this year" for the PS3 at E3, I haven't heard any news suggesting otherwise. And 45nm tech won't hit the 360 till '09. We haven't even gotten 65nm tech yet.
I knew some games had to be pushed out of 07 due to the sheer amount of releases, but I didn't think it would be GTA. So whose big game is coming out in October? Maybe some release date shuffles incoming ...

anyone considered this could have links to sony's claim of easily being in the lead by march 08. perhaps rockstar has faith in sony and is waiting to release the game when the ps3 has a considerably larger user base

well I don't know if it's the same in videogame industry but usually if you delay something you have to pay fees to your client for that delay... so it doesn't make a good thing but that way both companies will get some money back... if it works the same as other business of course
hum yeah that's a big set back for PS and 360.... what's weird how they pushed the fact it's going to be released in october at E3 and 4 weeks after just change totaly their mind...... the executive at the 3 company must be working on their strategy like crazy now... and have to rework their presentation for TGS LGC
but it's a good thing for the gamers... the game will have a better quaility.... and we wont have to ruin ourselves as much for that Xmas
