Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Why do people refuse to pay for online?

Hope this is not offending anyone

Cause they are human and we humans are cheap bastards

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Ah, I see. You rent games and then buy them. I think that is a little different than the norm.

Live is cheap, what is it 7 dollars for a month or 50 a year to get into a working online community. Paying also keeps out a good percentage of the 12 year old riff rafts that can't get moms credit card. I also pay for Gamefly which is pretty good with crappy shipping times.

How is a demo and renting a game remotely the same?  A lot of singleplayer games can be finished in a weekend.  Not to mention demos are generally free on PSN and PC.  Unless I am missing something and XBL lets you download and play a full game for X amount of time.  Actually, can't silver accounts access some demos?

well the psn doesnt have army of 2 and bad company...I think thers more but I can't think of any...

It has Bad Company, or at least it did.  The demo had single and multiplayer.

well thats what my friend said but he could have been wrong...

People are already paying for their internet connection so I guess some of them (like me) feel that its a bit unfair to have to pay more on top of that simply to play games online and access demos and vids.
Its not a whole lot of money to begin with but its a matter of principle. Aren't MS making enough money off of consumers yet?

No, just tired.

Hmm, no spelling errors in your post, are you sober?!

No, just tired.

What does sober mean again?

why do i refuse to pay for online..............i hope this helps...............ive played cod5 on 360 over live at a freinds house which he has to pay for..............and i have cod5 on ps3 which works online exactly the same which i dont pay for.............the 39.99 saving buys me an extra game a year............il put that 39.99 towards the excellent killzone 2 out in feb, which i might add is free to play online.................so i hope that helps

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Probably because people feel like they are getting bent over and reamed by M$. I don't mind that since they give me a reach around in the form of Halo 3, Gears 2 Horde mode, and they just started foreplay with Netflix. So they are trying to take care of my needs.

I refuse to pay for online because Mario Kart Wii is the best online experience and is free. So why on earth would I pay for Live? Online is also free on PS3 but don't have one so don't know how good it is but I understand it's better than Nintendos so must be quite good. So I don't see the justification for paying for Live.
