Forums - Gaming - It's just silicon and plastic...

My sig quote? I made that quote when I was a teenager on AOL. It really isn't all that serious. As for your initial post, it isn't about rationalizing. Its about whether you want to look like and idiot or not. If I say I like a huge RPG fan and I trash Valkyria Chronicles or WKC just because I don't own a PS3. That would make me a dumbass. There a lot of people doing similar things on this forum. If they don't want to grow up and they want to look like idiots then that's their business. Just trying to get those posters to consider how ridiculous they look.

"It's just silicon and plastic..."

Are you serious?

Damn, silicone and plastic (surgery) are the most important things in life.

Well it's really like kicking a hornet's nest and expecting to run unscathed. You might be able to do it, but don't count on it. Just make sure that each and every bee who's ever stung you knows who they're messing with and you'll be just fine.

and here I thought you were talking about women with breast implants and botox. Now I'm disappointed

Me too!

I was expecting a rant about how natural flat breasts are better.

Not really Code Samurai. With a thread like this most of the guilty parties are unlike to post. People that are sick of them are more likely to post. If irrational fanboys want to take shots at me let them. Their posts would do more damage to them than anything I or anyone else could say.

EDIT: As those making plastic surgery jokes, If I made such at thread it would be in Off Topic Discussion

That's like saying your girlfriend is just meat, blood, and bones. My inanimate objects love me and I love them.

I'm just wondering though, how bad would things be in fanboyism was openly accepted by the gaming community instead of being despised?

Much like in football, where football fanaticism is widely encouraged, you have people who treat football as a 'way of life'.

If the gaming community at large wasn't so hostile towards fanboyism, I think you'd find far more people emotionally attached to a mere piece of plastic.

I do agree with the OP, you can be a fan of a company or their product, but at this same time you have to be reasonable and appreciate the other systems even if they do not appeal to you. And if you cannot get a title on you console there is no need to be bitter over it, Wii owners wont get RE 5 and they should accept it or buy 360.
