I'm just wondering though, how bad would things be in fanboyism was openly accepted by the gaming community instead of being despised?
Much like in football, where football fanaticism is widely encouraged, you have people who treat football as a 'way of life'.
If the gaming community at large wasn't so hostile towards fanboyism, I think you'd find far more people emotionally attached to a mere piece of plastic.
