I don't get it. It's half a game, a demo if you will, but it's outselling most full racing games out there. It's at 2.2 million right now.

Compare it's features to that of full racing games.  Then think of all the content the full GT5 will come with. :O

GT is by far Sony's most profitable franchise. The retail sales of GT5P have probably already paid off all of GT5's development expenses thus far and then some.  Who knows how many copies they've sold via the PSN.

Remember the MGS2 Demo that came with Zone of The Enders? ;)

I agree. It has to be nice for Sony to have their biggest title ever almost already paid off.

Oh look, wii sports.... it has sold more than any other sport game :O

And?  The games has sold well over two million, not including sales via the PSN.  The game was never bundled in NA, and only recieved a bundle in Japan a week or two ago.  Even in Europe, it was never bundled all that extensively.

At least 1.5 million of it's sales aren't from bundles, and the majority of bundles sold upon release in Europe were by people would've bought the game anyway.

And we still don't know how many copies were sold via the PSN.
