Forums - Sales Discussion - Why everyone thinks Killzone 2 will be huge?

except in the GC era those games didn't actually come out...

Um, they were canceled?

Because it will be really good and have little competition

well some of them. We did get wind waker which was awesome :P

PS3 has a huge difference with the Gamecube:

Games:

-GC had a good 1st/2nd party (although not better than the 64 days) and low 3rd party because almost all good 3rd party was with the sales winning console

-PS3 has a good 1st/2nd party and a good 3rd party, and the winning console is not getting the good 3rd party yet...

Sales:

GC was in 3rd place with 21.74 million LTD, and the console was cheap, PS3 may be 2nd or 3rd, but it's been 2 years and the console is already 16 million, and the console started expensive as hell and remains as the most expensive console of the 3...

So don't compare it to the Gamecube, the PS3 thing is that it's not following PS2 steps...

Everyone thought Haze would be huge. It turned out to be very average.
Kill Zone on PS2 was a terrible games. Why would KZ2 be any better?
Only Sony fanboys believe Sony's marketing crap and believe KZ2 will be huge and the next best game of all time.
Rational gamers believe KZ2 will be average at best.

To be honest, I think I am going to follow the opinion of those who have played the game, in the beta, rather than someone who is just guessing

@numonex

The differance is that 4 months before Haze came out review sites were saying things are looking very bad for the future of Haze. In Killzone 2's case previews have been saying that the gameplay is on par with the best shooters out, and the graphics are unmatched so far on consoles.

This game has been in development way to long, with way to many hands on it, for it to turn out average. Not only has it been in the hands of Naughty Dog, Sanatmonica Studio, London Studios, Insomniac, and Gurrilla Games itself. Now the game is in the hands of the future consumers, and with plenty of time to work out any complaints they have about it.

At this point if Killzone fails to live up to expectations, then Sony has got bigger problems than anyone has been suspecting.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Was Haze being claimed as the best looking game of the generation months before it released? Did Haze have Beta multiplayer in which everyone who played it said the detail was absolutely amazing and the gameplay was awesome? Did Haze take many years to develop?

Reviewers and gamers all seem to think its a great game, must be atleast a little truth to it don't you think?

(I don't think KZ2 is going to be massively huge, but it will be a multi million seller)

The last game that took many years to develop was Too Human. Not good.
