Excuse me gentlemen, I have some business on Diomedes' wall.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
nah it's not done lagging yet.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
So, LBP sold significantly less than we thought?
Is it huge? Or, is it now considered a flop? We need a new thread to discuss that. I'll start it later, if no one wants to beat me to it. :P
Also, Crazzy(and Diomedes, if he's reading from his ban), was VGChartz still cheating in favor of the 360, and if so, is NPD even more in the hole for Microsoft?
...or is it just possible that the PS3 and its software isn't selling as well as you'd hoped in the US?
The hits just keep on coming for Sony this month...it has not been a good time to be a Sony fan on a sales site.
This, of course, is the direct consequence of not dropping its price to compete with the 360. Maybe this will be a wake-up call for the company. Microsoft is not rolling over like Nintendo did.

Wow @ GH:WT not even charting this month. Crazy
So, GH: WT, NBA 2K9, Dead Space, Saints Row 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2, LBP, Wii play and Wii fit hideously overtracked, at least by 100k in sales.
GH: WT overtracked by at least 150k units (lowest of top 10)
Fable 2 over by 100k
Wii fit over by 150K
Fallout 3 isn't by much taking the .9 into account
Neiter is MK Wii
Wii play over by 100k
Saints row 2 over by 100k
LBP over by 100k
And Dead space by 100k.
Wow,ps3 sold less this month, than last. So LBP actually decreased ps3 sales, it's just seems like that. That's the numbers before gears of war 2.

Read my above post, but almost every game sold less than we thought.
By a huge margin.
>_>
TheSource said: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=2495 NPD will report on USA hardware and software totals for the four weeks ending November 1 on November 13 at 6:30 PM EST. Despite a marginal decrease in industry revenue in the previous month compared to September 2007, October 2008 was an absolute banner month. In the Americas, just the top ten games accounted for 4.5m units in software sales led by Fable II which sold hundreds of thousands units more than the top title in October 2007.
Hardware sales were up from 2007 as well, with Wii in particular setting the all time non-holiday sales record for the Americas. Earlier this year, DS sold 783,000 units in June according to NPD figures for the USA. However, that period was five weeks. Vgchartz data shows Wii selling 934,000 units in the Americas for only four weeks. Adjusting down to just the United States, Wii likely sold about 850,000 units. Based on the VGC Americas totals, we expect NPD to report that Nintendo also sold about 600,000 DS portables in the USA. Microsoft for its part likely sold about 300,000 Xbox 360s in the USA. We also expect NPD to report that Sony sold about 220,000 PS3s, 208,000 PSPs, and about 128,000 PS2s in the USA.
On a weekly basis, across the Americas, VGC has the following hardware totals:
Software sales for the month were led by a bounty of new entries, and Nintendo’s previously released, but steady sellers. A number of notable games missed the overall top ten but still sold well for the period. In fact, roughly two dozen games outside the top ten sold over 100,000 units for the month. Guitar Hero: World Tour, with only the Xbox 360 version in the top ten is a good example of games that didn’t make the cutoff, as the Wii, PS3 and PS2 versions all sold over 100,000 units as well. Every platform, except for PSP, had multiple games sell over 100,000 units this month.
That said, the VGC top ten for the Americas is as follows. The usual caveat applies – multiply the total by 0.9 to arrive at VGC estimates for what NPD USA figures will be for the period.
Next month, with Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, Animal Crossing, massive hardware increases, and increases for older hits should be quite fascinating. The top ten for November should largely depend on the number of Wiis available to sell, as an attach rate of six to eight is far different on 1.3m Wiis vs. the 1.75m or 2m Wiis Nintendo could probably sell. |
NPD America!

03. Fallout 3 (Xbox 360) - 375,000

09. NBA 2K9 (Xbox 360) - 202,000
10. Dead Space (Xbox 360) - 193,000
The only one that seems off to what you said source was DS! Remember to read what the source said, before comparing to numbers given. The quick chart like numbers are for AMERICAS! and NPD is for USA only.
Well, I think it's clear, Crazzy, that VGChartz is not cheating to give the 360 an advantage.
It is also clear now, that LBP did not meet sales expectations, from even the most pessimistic predictors.
This has not been a good month for the PS3, on internet forums.
I think it is a direct result of Sony refusing to price cut and compete with the 360. I don't care why they didn't do it, and I don't care. Short term profitability goals are costing them bigtime this generation.
Ugh, the site messing up is screwing up my posts!
