One of the problems with that statement is the fact that Gears 3 will most likely be the flagship title for the next xbox just as Halo 3 was for the 360, so it probably won't have any effect on increasing 360 sales and would quite probably take away 360 sales by moving them to the new MS console. Another factor is we don't know if Gears is the type of game that will result in the sale of more 360's or if like Fable II it will mainly only sell to those that already have a 360.

The trend will stop having any real effect by December 25th of this year and the release of White Knight Chronicles in Japan. PS3 is going to own the HD console wars through March with games like InFamous and Killzone 2 (which has received big early pops from non gamer publications like Maxim), then with White Knight Chronicles and an exclusive big time racer coming in March. Finally with some price cuts and FFXIII coming out exclusively for the PS3 in June in Japan, you have the PS3 taking back its JRPG crown and cutting the 360's lead in half.

 im sure both of those games will be huge but dont forget that final fantasy is on the 360 as well, which will no doubt take a lot of sales away from the ps3. And we still dont have any idea of what games nintendo will release next year. im sure they will have quite a few suprises since this year was very dull for them.

The PS3 has stalled out as far as software sales are going. Cause a ton of people are just buying a PS3 to be a Blu-ray movie player. They are not buying games cause they only want to watch movies.

I am sure this is the case cause that's why I have one. If I want to play games i use my 360.

the truth is jus buy a 360 n ps3 and no matter who wins you'll experience it all, wii is still a fad in my mind and compared to gears of war 2, resistance 2, ff13, killzone 2, all wii gamezz r jus meaningless. muwahahaahahaa

FFXIII isn't on the 360 in Japan, so that is 1 to 2 million sales for the game that the 360 won't receive. And of course the HD blu-ray version will be better than the dvd version.
