Examples: If a "true gamer" is a "true" fan of the mgs series or still wants to play his ps2 games along with the new generation, he would have bought a ps3 just because it's a SONYYY PLAAAAYYYSSSTTTATTIONNNN 33333 right? Very smart thinking on your part.

A 'true' gamer will buy the system(s) that has the largest amount of games he/she will want to play, and that will always be subjective.

I don't know anyone who bought the ps3 just for blu-ray but my circle of friends are also gamers so I wouldn't know. As for GT, it's pretty much the last man standing but it really doesn't have any competition. It's almost like the windows of racing simulators.

IF Sony gives us one or two more years like this one, it's bye bye 360. That is all.

Price is a big factor on both the Hardware sells and the Software sell. The 360 as far as Software goes has better sales. If your lucky you may find a couple of PS3 games on sale for 20-40 bucks on any giving week (In my area) compare that to 360 where you could find a Wide Variety in that range. Some of these are big hit titles. That right there may sway you if your looking for a machine to play games on. Each machine is at any giving store you go to so that's not a factor. Also, the various tastes of the owners of the PS3 prevents as many million sellers. PS2 may actually be hurting it a little to. I saw a guy walk out with Maddens Football on the PS2 instead of the PS3 because it was cheaper. (I wouldn't have mentioned it but he was also walking out with the PS3 and was going to play it on that from what he told me. Which reminds me I thought Sony did away with BC oh well. Also, he kinda made a big deal out of it I guess he's a proud Sony supporter.0

Okay reading thorough all the post I don't understand why people think the XB360 price cut was to squarely attack Sony sales. Microsoft now has a new target, and they set their sights squarely on the Wii. They priced the arcade not to cut into Sony sales more, but to try and slow the Wii's progress...as some have forgotten the Wii was the leader for the most part in software/hardware sales in 2008.

...Look at the bundled offerings that Microsoft has with the Arcade, as well as Pro. They realized...late, but there IS a cap on how much you can sale to the Hardcore market. The NXE isn't to combat Playstation@Home, it's to make it more accessible an interface like the Wii to non core gamers.

Sony has to improve themselves as a company first. This focus WILL cause things to lapse. The poor QC on LBP is an example.

Do you think Nintendo would let something like that slip and cause a delay to an important title like that?

PLUS 360 = American games on an American Console in America

360 is the FIRST real alternative to japanese gaming. plus 360 as great exclusive for people who love racing and FPS (I dont)

Doesnt it remember the FF Case : Japanese Game on a Japanese Console in Japan ? = PS2 and now Wii (PS3 ??)

If you're speculating an inherent bias towards home made stuff in gamers' minds, you may be on to something here. I do know people who only want to buy "made in America" but I didn't think they were a relevant group. However, Japanese have resisted the 360 to this day despite having all the big JP JRPGs. It couldn't just be because of FF?
