Lord_Yggdrassil said: that's a stupid mindset to have, i'm not saying this game is going to sell liek friggin FF..it's not but peopel(even namco) were surprised by the first symphonia's sales..it did very very well, this is a sequel to a gamethat did very well. Symphonia on GC is the best selling tales game in US by a mile, that's because GC had almost zero JRPG's and they marketed it fairly well...why not do it with this because it's on a more popular platform(Wii is FAR more popular than GC) AND the wii also has almost no JRPG's...if any good games at all. |
I do not understand your argument that Tales of Symphonia sold well on the GameCube because it was one of the few RPGs on the system. Actually the argument does not make sense. Obliviously Gamers knew that the GameCube lacked RPGs therefore they did not purchase the Gamecube to play RPGs. Thus the inverse of your argument would happen. But Tales of Symphonia actually is a very good game that sold well because of word of mouth. Kinda like Halo, the original, on the Xbox.
Secondly, the team that created Tales of Symphonia also developed Tales of Vesperia, which many have proclaimed as their game of the year. At least until Fallout 3 released.
Give Team Symphonia some credit for making a great game. That's the true reason why the game sold so well.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
