No, why ? Because Japan in Japan only one console sells well (handhelds are a different story), and those titles wont make PS3 sells to go over wii pernamently. Some short increases in sales yes, but that's it.

Huge releases don't have lasting effects on PS3, not at it's price. On paper, you can make any year seem great, but 4 great games is only 4 weeks out of 52.

@Lolcislaw^^^i m not only talking about games,,,PS3 will get a price cut in japan,,,price cuts might have permanent effect if they are supported with huge franchises

i dunno maybe around 100k or so, but MGS failed to do anything but a short term increase.  Even if PS3 sells 150k it doesn't really mean anything if it goes back to normal levels a few weeks later.

but PS3 also gets a price cut in 09.

360 also had a major price cut, along with good releases close to each other.
