Well it does help when you're BUNDLED WITH THE SYSTEM IN THE BIGGEST MARKET.

I'll remember this statement when Wii sports II comes out. More seriously though, a lot of games are going to sell better than wii sports. It is still way to early to even think about making statements like these (wait until everyone in japan who wants a wii actually has one).

Wii Sport isn't my favourite game eiither ;) But for a large, random group to people coming to my house (i.e. this Sat!), I couldn't think of anything else better to put on. Kwaad - you may be right (about Wii Sports being the best seller). But then, I don't think you can count "packed-in" games - its not fair or right. I'll stand by my prediction that Wii Sports II will be the best selling Wii title ;) (unless Health Pack, Brain Training or Wii Music blow people away....).

In all honesty, I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just curious: what are the other pieces of the puzzle that you see? i'd like to know because I like the idea of the Wii, I'm just not completely convinced.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Well just subtract the american sales. It's still the best selling Wii game so far. LOL.

To get back on subject I've just finished playing my brand new copy of SSX Blur for 1 1/2 hours, so I got a good impression of it. At first it seemed the controls were going to be hard to get used to, but a few minutes in and I was find with turning and carving, nailing tricks isn't too bad either, what is tough is landing those tricks, and the uber tricks have a neat concept behind them(they give you a specific motion like forming a circle with the wiimote and you have to make it to score. some are hard some are easy) But within 15 minutes I scored 440,000 on the half pipe that's 80,000 higher then the record thats defualted on there. Just to give you an idea of the adjustment. So the controls have a learning curve but all in all ain't bad. Graphically for a Wii game it rates high, it cast the Wii in a new light or anything though. Design of the boards is nice too, I'm quite happy with the game. But above all the sound track makes this game, it's amazing. Instead of going the mtv route in tony hawk games with good alternitive hip hop compilation, they just have one dj mix a whole sountrack, and it's awesome, really addicitive to listen too as the tracks fade into each other seamlessly from board to board, and it's interactive to the game, there is this jam slope that keeps mixing in beats to the song the higher your uber trick meter thing goes, and you really start bobbing your head to the beat when you get into it. So it's pretty sweet.

You'd have to come off a lot more rudely for me to think you're being a jerk, so don't worry about it. ;) Controls, Graphics, Music, Sound, Story, Characters, Playstyle (single/multi) and I suppose Gameplay itself should be considered a category, although it's more a combination of several factors in itself. For an example, Fire Emblem 10, which I am looking forward to, while improving the graphics and animation of it's predecessor, will proably be "okay" in controls and good-but-not-great in graphics, and IMHO great in the other categories I mentioned. It is simply how I look at games and judge them personally. SSX Blur, to me, looks good in controls, graphics, music, sound, playstyle, and gameplay, but non-existent for plot and characters. Personally, it looks to be a great game to me overall. jman8, I'd like your thoughts on my own "favorite 25 games", if you don't mind the time. ;) http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?publicUserId=5783788&bId=7828676

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

That's the impression that my friend gave me. Sounds like a good buy.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
