Must say, if this wasnt the build-up to the holiday period, there would've been a more than decent chance of that happening

It will sell fewer than half as many units as the Wii during Gears week, and 1/3rd as many as the Wii for the month.

Maybe it will outsell it the day that gears is released.  Or maybe for a few hours that day.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it did (America only), but I highly doubt it. Wii is not going to sell less than 120k by the way

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

The 2nd game in a franchise for a particular console will not be a hardware seller.

Whilst I don't question the monster software sales it's had/going to have, it will not boost hardware by all that much.
