Tools of Destruction Uncharted Oblivion (port) All my opinion of course. EDIT: As Uncharted isn't in my 'collection', COD4 is the fourth best PS3 game in my collection. 1) MGS4 2) Oblivion 3) Tools of Destruction 4) COD4 I can't fairly count BioShock in this list, because it is currently installing, but I think that can grab second place. |
MGS4 came out this year. CoD4 came out last year in 2007. 11/6/07
Combined with the fact that you said "last year" I'd assume you'd know that it was 2007 we were talking about.
Thus, MGS4 is excluded.
Now I know it's your opinion and all that Obilivion and ToD was better than CoD4, but it's my opinion that you are dead wrong. CoD4 is vastly superior to both of those games in fun, immersion, and everything, even without the online modes.
Many would agree with me. :P
You said it wasn't even close. CoD4 isn't "close" to Racket and Clank?
I think you've listed those games because they're exclusive.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

I know MGS4 was released in 2008. But it's still my favourite PS3 game. I know we're talking about 2007, which is why I didn't say MGS4 was a game released in 2007 which was a lot better than COD4.
When I look at COD4, here's what I see:
-A short, poor campaign
-No co-op
-Average graphics
-Perhaps the best online FPS system in history
Unfortunately, an excellent online system does not entirely make up for the crap that was single player, the complete lack of co-op which could have been easily implemented and a few technical shortcomings.
I once read this hilarious gamespot user review by a guy who claimed "MGS4's graphics were disappointing after COD4".
Don't you love it when people review before playing?
Back on topic, Oblivion is not an exclusive. I suppose, being as much a fan of Ratchet and Clank as I am, I couldn't see any faults in TOD (besides the ironic lack of online)
Uncharted was awesome and you know it. I know how you hate judging games based on reviews, but TOD and COD4 have the same IGN score, and Uncharted was PS3 Game of The Year 2007, when COD4 was released. COD4 got best 360 game, but as you probably know, the overall award went to Super Mario Galaxy, with its 9.7 score, the same as BioShock (and then IGN gives Wii Fit a 5/10, and suddenly they hate the Wii)
That's another thing. BioShock was light years better than COD4. Which is now my FIFTH favourite (As I said, BioShock is firmly in second). Although I suppose it was only released for PS3 in 2008.
And I don't remember saying COD4 wasn't close to Ratchet and Clank. I'd give TOD a 9.2/10 and COD4 an 8.8/10. Those game of the year awards were completely undeserved.
You do agree that BioShock is better than COD4, right?
Right?
EDIT: There weren't many multiplats in 2007. Name 3 very good ones.
I really doubt that this will be better than cod 4 but we shall see. At least it will be interesting to see the sales figures. Will Wii version sell the most? 35 million - 22 million userbases, so it should sell.

For that answer, you just need to look at the COD3 sales.
So, no.

Wii had a lot smaller install base back then...

Still. The 360 is a shooter console, PS3 owners like shooters as well (over 3.6 million sales of COD4)
Name one shooter that has done well on Wii.

Well I don't know about RE:UC, but metroid prime did ok. But one of the reasons I think wii version will sell the most is that there really aren't many good shooters on wii. Maybe this one will fill that need.
any game where a man puts his cig out in another man's eye gets the thumbs up from me
