Forums - Sales - Sony isn't even trying right now and they're still a threat

I'm impressed. They don't try to lose money, yet they do! Marvellous Sony must be so happy.

Seriously, Sony isn't trying? Well, they damn better start, because right now, they're losing their reputation, money, and their position in the console market.

They did grand with the PsP though.

This is hilarious, every day i come on this site and see fanboys ripping eachother to pieces over how one system outsold the other etc... but what gets me is that Sony has pretty much played passive this entire gen with minimal price cuts meanwhile MS is dropping prices and offering rebates as if theres no tommorow.... MS knows that the PS3 is starting to shine now with Blu ray winning and becoming mainstream, PS3's biggest exclusives coming GT5,FF(japan), so they are throwing an all out blitz right now... the wii needs no mention its in its own little world.....

That is funny,I love how they are losing millions on PS3,and then threads like this are made to brain wash people that Sony is doing fine!

But Sony is doing fine, and btw RROD is a problem of the past,There not losing money off of them..

this is supposed to be a trolling thread???

Yes, the PSP is the best-selling handheld from a company other than Nintendo. I still think it funny how everyone expected it to sell better than the DS in lifetime sales (including me). We were proven very wrong indeed.

ovy MS is losing money everyday with RROD repairs

Actually they lost 1 billion last year, they lose no money now from RROD. Don't be such a fanboy. Where has sony being passive got them? 2 years in and they have made no headway into taking second place. 5.5 Million behind the 360 when it launched. 5.5+ million as of this day.

RROD is not a thing of the past, or else that shop in texas would have closed its door last year. but its still big buisness for them.

Well, it could've had a shot at the DS phat. It would at least have been a lot closer.

Of course, the PsP never would have come close to a change in profit, due to the fact that it cannot sell software.

I have to agree with the OP, it looks like brand recognition is giving PS3 good sales even though the hard hitting software is still a long way off and price is still high. When GT5, GOW 3, FFXIII and Versus release we will see huge numbers for the PS3 and they are still many other big games to come.

Also the one thins which Americans only seem to care about looking on these forums and believe it is the only thing which can help the PS3.......that's right price cuts still to come for the PS3.

Funny I said the same thing.......

It is not like sony is losing "the race" selling millions of units. That is way more then enough to let their games sell. People honestly talk about how bad sony or MS is going to lose. In reality no one is going to lose on this generation with the selling of millions of systems.

Fan boys have to get to reality with the battling of games and not systems. IE GOW2 VS R3, HALO VS KZ2. So on and so on. This is not an over saturated market for example when dreamcast came out. It had to compete with Sony, Microsoft's xbox, the cube. The generation now has changed the playing field.

This generation has nintendo who struck gold selling to the casual gamers. Putting nintendo in a whole new bracket of video game entertainment. Sony and Microsoft staying to the roots of "hardcore" gamers. With these two going at it and selling high number of systems no one will lose.

RROD is not competly gone, its nearly gone, very little 360 still RROD,but of course some are still going to RROD from the launch consoles.
