Jak was never in the same class.  I guess LBP might be considered a platformer, but one game doesnt overide a series of greatness.

And Rachet and Clank is a horrible platformer.  It also happens to be a pretty decent shooter

Damn, I forgot Mario. And however excellent the shooting may be, people will insist on calling it a 'platformer'. I suppose in a way it is. Just like Jak.

And, frankly, the original Banjo was back in Rare's golden age, when they made Perfect Dark and Goldeneye. Face it, they're not as good as they were before.

Also, an excellent first game doesn't mean the rest of the series will follow suit. Look at Devil May Cry, and some other games which I can't name, but I'm sure exist.

Consider the fact that IGN gave the original a 9.6. Higher than what they gave Gears of War. Higher than what they gave Gears 2. Higher than what they gave Halo 3.

While it's true that Jak doesn't compare to the original, it certainly seems to compare to this one, LBP is probably as good as the original, Mario is, indeed, better, and Ratchet, at its best (Up Your Arsenal) is damned close.

Great score for Banjo as well. For $40 this game is a great deal.

Not bad. To be honest, I was expecting high 7s, just because IGN is well, IGN toward games that confuse them. Banjo seemed to be a little too confusing for them.



GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Lets not all get frustrated by the reviews. It doesnt look like a AAA game. (admitadly I havent played it) But AA score if it scores that on meta and Gamerrankings is higher than almost all of us thought during the year. Scores are scores. AA is still a good game just not amazing.

I noticed they havent included OXM 9/10 yet on there. So it will go up slightly.
