Well, they play with loaded dice... basically they release whenever they want to and haven't hesitated before canning three years worth of development to start over.

It's pretty much the only developer able to do so. Perhaps EA is that leniant with Will Wright too, but that's all.

That's also why im banging on wood that Diablo 3 plays great. From what I have seen it's like WoW, WoW's inventory, WoW's auto allocation stat points, WoW's style of talents.... errr skills. Too much WoW too little Diablo.

Eh? If you are sarcastic then my goal was not to stop people from getting Diablo 3 at all. Just outlining the current situation and hoping it plays like the other Diablos.

Well, there's a reason they are doing that to diablo. Ever wonder why D2 didn't get anymore expansions? Because it's such a mess that they got very very lucky it holds together. They learned how to control character power during the development of WoW and that allows them to control the growth of the game, thus facilitating expansion-based business model.

In other words, they want to sell us a D3 expansion every year and the only way they can do that is by controlling exactly the limits of character power.

I'll be honest, I loved Blizzard up until the announcement of WOTLK. Right now they haven't had a new game come out in over 4 years, many of their original creators are no longer there, and they are pulling bullshit like the SC2 Trillogy and the D3 changes. I'll blame Activision since I don't wanna be blaming Blizzard. They were my heroes.
