Forums - PC Discussion - Let's all stop giving money to blizzard.

Good to hear that I'm not the only one who aren't fond of Blizzard.

Right now they haven't had a new game come out in over 4 years, many of their original creators are no longer there, and they are pulling bullshit like the SC2 Trillogy and the D3 changes. I'll blame Activision since I don't wanna be blaming Blizzard. They were my heroes.

AFAIK most of their original talent is still there, the only guys gone are the Diablo team. Which btw, after the hellgate fiasco appear to have lost their magic touch. Interestingly enough, the success story has been Guild Wars... and the guys behind it were the tech-heads engineering battle.net, not the game content designers.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

I thought some of the WC talent left as well with that "exodus," not just the diablo team.

Don't kid yourself, they are still the best developers out there and haven't failed quite yet, it's just tidings of what's to come, nothing has happened yet. Until it happens they shall remain #1.

Not in my eyes. Far from it, actually.

Enlighten us as where they have failed. Maybe it was Diablo? No? Starcraft? WoW? I'm drawing a blank here.

I only like SC and the WC games. Rest is overrated boredom. And WC3 wasn't really that great, but the mods saved it.

Allegedly they also dumped 3 years worth of Diablo 3 development and is part of the reason why the original Diablo team is no longer working there.

That's also why im banging on wood that Diablo 3 plays great. From what I have seen it's like WoW, WoW's inventory, WoW's auto allocation stat points, WoW's style of talents.... errr skills. Too much WoW too little Diablo.

WoW's inventory? It's exactly the same as in Diablo II.

Auto allocation of stats points is a blessing for Diablo fans. It was very annoying having to put the stats at every level when it was pointless since all High-end Diablo characters always ended up getting stat points on the exact same attributes. There was no strategy in stat allocation, all you would do was just increase the attributes that suited your type of character.

I'm not sure what you mean about "style of talents". One think I can tell you is that WoW has alot of depth in character building. Diablo II's talent system also worked the same as WoW except it was far more archaic and it never possessed the variety and strategic builds that WoW has.

A lot of WoW stuff comes from Diablo 2 so it's not surprising Diablo 3 will take back from Wow as it is just original Diablo 2 stuff evolved...

Now of course you can argue you prefer Diablo 2 inventory where different items would take different space and it was always a jigsaw puzzle to optimize your bank and be able to carry the maximum number of items.......

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Oh shit I pissed off shio.... It's Wow's inventory as in everythign has its little box and it stays there. If I want to have an assassin with 500 energy then I want an assassin with 500 energy, I don't want them to be saving my time because holy shit, I have to click the mouse 5 more times WHILE PLAYING DIABLO II, you sure that won't kill you, is your finger alright from the sudden burst of clicking?

Skill system as in "you need 5 point sin this tree to get this skill," which is annoying as frik. I don't want to put 5 points into my sroc's fireball, I want 1 point in there and the other 4 into fire mastery, or frost orb, or w/e.

As to why I don't like that system. If I want to carry 50 small charms then I want to be able to carry 50 small charms, they don't stack and they take up 1 slot in either case. Somehow I doubt Blizz will let each char carry 50 different items in D3.
