While the Wii may be selling faster now than the DS did at launch. DS is still selling faster right now. but whatever. Go Wii and DS! ^_^

^Point is: they are Nintendo's.

 As has been mentioned many times before, it is not possible to predict what kind of demand the Wii has while it is sold out.  For all we know it could be able to sustain sellouts for the next 3 years or it could all come crashing down in a matter of days.  So it is really hard to predict up or down where the Wii will be in the long term.  With that said I think that most intelligent and reasonable people understand that the Wii is far more likely to go up in sales numbers before it goes down (ie increased production to meet demand etc...).

It is pretty hard to say it will all come crashing down. As cheap as $250 is for some, it is a lot for others. Just because a person wants one they may not be able to afford it now. They may be waiting for a holiday, a price drop, a tax return, or a new credit card.

2 ways nintendo could maintain demand (other than new games)

1. Price drop, even $50 less makes a difference, especially at $199.
2. New Version, generate more new demand and would put more used consoles on the market.

It's so hilarious to me: $250 is cheap! xD

People whined and moaned forever about how expensive the brand new $300 Playstation 2 was!

The Wii is only cheap when you contrast and compare it to the competition. Nintendo even knows this, and is currently laughing all the way to the bank about it.

I have owned all three this gen, and the Wii is the only one I don't feel ripped off by.
