Incase people don't know or don't even care the review embargo for Gears 2 and Resistance 2 is lifted today at 2pm UK time. Expect Gamespot and IGN to have their reviews up shortly after (IGN already have RE2 up).

Now personally i couldn't care which does the best i just hope Gamespot call it right. They can't come out like they did with Fable II and say they marked it down because the story lacked depth then give LBP a higher score which has no story...

Time to put on the tin hats!

My god... I dont like GS anymore, but how can you compare the review standards of Fable 2 with the ones of LBP... a good RPG needs a great story, while a game like LBP needs none... all that matters is gameplay...

RPG's don't need a good story to be good... as long as the gameplay is good and fun they work at doing what they are supposed to do... be fun. A good story is just icing on the cake. With that being said I don't like Gamespot anymore either.

Gamespot are 360 fanboys, dont worrythey will give gears a higher score

Like all review websites, Gamespot are 360 fanboys when 360 games get nice scores, in the meanwhile whenever they give good scores to ps3 games or bad scores to 360 games they are fair and just.

Gamespot are pathetic, they are always last with their reviews. They're the only major site I can think of that still hasn't reviewed them yet.

Really you can't compare Fable and LBP, Fable does need a great, interesting, intriguing story. That is what RPGs are about, of course good gameplay and other things are needed but story is very important. LBP doesn't need a great story but great gameplay (a good story will help but no need for a great ,complex one).

So gamespot might think LBP has great gameplay/ok story and Fable has good gameplay/good story. The great gameplay just helped LBP edge out Fable by a few points.

Mainly because the bolded hasn't actually happened. Except MGS4. And Too Human.

They gave Tools of Destruction and Wipeout HD 7.5/10, and Uncharted 8/10, then gave Braid a 9.5/10, therefore they are 360 fanboys. And don't point me to metacritic, because metacritic is owned by the people who own gamespot (CNET). They give gamespot scores huge priority when giving metascores. Note how they say some scores are more important than others.

Well, I suppose the results are (partly) in. IGN says they're equal, let's see if Gamespot agrees. After they gave Gears 2 a 9/10, I don't think they'll give Resistance 2 anything higher. If they do, cool.
