Yeah because the writing is so bad that I cried? I never played Planescape so it is still MGS for me. Are you one of those "if a game uses cutscenes to tell it's story, then it sucks" people? If you want bad writing, play the Devil May Cry series

I love the MGS games as much as anyone else, but that story is wack yo... and depressing... The original two Baldur Gates games were much better done and they were not linear ether.

totally forgot about that game... shame on me...
Mass Effect's story was damn good for the first game of a new IP, so I can't wait for the rest of the trilogy. Bring it on BioWare! ;)
For a whole series though, Metal Gear's story is definitely well made, and everything makes sense in the end. Well thought out Kojima!

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

no... the story isn't well written... a story should have a start a middle and a end... MGS has none of these. You get a sense of what's going on outside of the game but the game never really tells you why no matter how badly you cripple these asshats they keep comming back. And some of the stuff is just so over the top... mechs are one thing... hands taking over a person? This isn't a fantasy game... this game has some grounds in reality
the chrono series is my favorite storyline. its hella deep and gave me chills! :)

Seriously, did you play the whole Metal Gear saga? The game has a start (Metal Gear Solid 3), a middle (Metal Gear), and a end (Metal Gear Solid 4). Mechs make total sense, and these mechs are called Metal Gears. They do explain why and how they were created, and like I said, MGS 4 concludes every single plot hole from the previous games (even the old MSX ones). In fact, all the games ALSO have a certain meaning to them, like MGS was about genes, MGS 2 was about what you want the next generations to know, MGS 3 was the back story of The Boss (and Big Boss) and loyalty to your country, MGS 4 explains that the whole saga was a story of friendship and loyalty, etc. Get your facts straight. :/
