Yeah because the writing is so bad that I cried? I never played Planescape so it is still MGS for me. Are you one of those "if a game uses cutscenes to tell it's story, then it sucks" people? If you want bad writing, play the Devil May Cry series

 

 

no... the story isn't well written... a story should have a start a middle and a end... MGS has none of these.  You get a sense of what's going on outside of the game but the game never really tells you why no matter how badly you cripple these asshats they keep comming back.  And some of the stuff is just so over the top... mechs are one thing... hands taking over a person?  This isn't a fantasy game... this game has some grounds in reality
