I agree with the OP

As its the truth.....the Wii did have the weakest software in 2008.....now it is most definetely a negative.

That doesn't mean things can't improve....just look at PS3's dismal last year....& this year its pumping out AAA exclusive after AAA exclusive (LBP, MGS4, RES 2, Valkyria Chronicles).

Q1 09 looks to be slightly postive.....if oly they could've pre-poned those games.

I'm kinda glad there aren't a ton of AAA Wii games (actually, there's not any game I feel I NEED to own) this holiday. I'd lose my house trying to support my 3 babies!

If you go by strictly retail releases then Wii had a much better first 6 months than the HD consoles and a much weaker second half than the HD consoles.

However if you add in the WiiWare offerings and VC releases than it can be argued that Wii has just as much compelling software as the HD consoles this second half.

Of course we all now that DS is pwning all consoles in the software war.

I actually agree, however with Kart, Brawl, Symphonia 2, Disaster, CoD:WaW, Animal Crossing it's not a bad year at all. Personally I have had loads of fun with my favorite feature of the Wii: The VC.

Furthermore I'd like to refer to stof, his advice will dramatically extent your stay here at VGC.

I'm sure most people with atleast one other console would. It hasn't been a particularly good year for most genres of games. I think apart from some of Nintendo's offerings, 2009 is already looking like  a much better year.
