@Seraphic_Sixaxis: This game is an SRPG. It won't sell that much anywhere, it's a new IP in a niche genre.

This is probably true but I'm hoping it isn't.  I want to see VC do well.

Loving the fact that developers have to FIGHT over my money based on how good their game is.

Isn't that how it always is? How do you normally go about deciding on game purchases?

on genre and review score. With a fixed income like 99% of people out there, I have to pick and choose what to get in a certain week.

Of course, there are games that will sell REGARDESS of how good (or bad) they are. I shall not name them here.

Hrmm... was your point just to attack the Wii or something? Not quite sure where you were going with this. Not everyone gives a crap about reviews (the ones that claim GTAIV is the greatest thing ever). Uncharted, for example, is only at 88 on metacritic.

Btw, what's this AAA thing about? What qualifies a game for AAA status, IGN? This game won't do as well on the aggregate review sites.

Either way, I hope enough people buy the game. I can't afford it any time soon, hoping this (and Eternal Sonata's) used game prices get cheap in a few months. It's nice to see Sega making a good game nowadays.

While that is true, this seems to be a rather unique SRPG in the fact that it seems to be more accesssible than most SRPGS, and just about everyone seems to like the game.  In this very thread you'll see people (like Kantor) that normally hate SRPGs falling in love with the title.

I hope with some good word of mouth, this title will sell decently for a JRPG, and very well for an SRPG.  It's only 20k behind Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn in Japan, a game from an established franchise that released two months earlier on a much larger install base.

I thought the demo was amazing

The intro to the demo was more amazing than entire other demos.

Indeed. But people off of PSN didn't download it enough to even make the top 20!

And only 9k behind the Fire Emblem on Gamecube. It really needs some good legs and a good drive for the Cheaper edition coming.
