I just went over to IGN and read the review on this game. And to be honest I am not a fan of SRPG at all. I could not get into Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for the PSP. I got frustrated and took that game back. Now after seeing how this game operates and its gameplay features. It looks more user-friendly then any SRPG I saw yet.

Before I confirm I want to buy it, I think I should play a demo of the game first.

I know! It's brilliant! Check out my thread for the link.

Do you think I will enjoy this game? I mean I'm not into SRPG? Do you think this is a good game for a newcomer to the genre?

I must say, I have never touched an SRPG before (hated them all) but I was bored and decided to go demo downloading (US Store available now).

It is truly amazing. I have played through it five times. Despite my hatred of other games in the genre, I am getting it.

I do advise you try the demo first, though.

Well... I enjoyed The other chronicles games so it looks like I'm going to have to play this.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Great score, i must say i didnt like the demo i guess its not my kinda game, it will be interesting too see if it sells well it release tomorrow in Europe.

Nice reallu enjoyed the demo

"Valkyria Chronicle is proof that the heart of the Dreamcast era still beats in Sega's Japanese Headquarters."

I am buying this game tomorrow ,it will be in stores tomorrow here in Europe.
This review only makes me want to play it more!

These last weeks have been epic for PS3 software .Take a look

Bioshock (IGN 9.3)
Little Big Planet (IGN 9.5)
Resistence 2 (IGN 9.5)
Fallout 3 (IGN 9.4)
Eternal Sonata (IGN 8.7)
Valkyrie of the Battlefield (IGN 9.0)
Far Cry 2(IGN 8.8)
Motorstorm 2(IGN 8.4 and 8.8)
Wipeout HD (IGN 9.0)
Midnight Club LA (IGN 8.8 )
NBA 2K 09(9.0)
FIFA 09 (IGN 8.7 )
Rock Band 2 (IGN 9.0)
Dead Space (IGN 8.7)
Saints Rows 2(IGN 8.8)

And we have still COD5 ,Mirrors Edge ,Prince of Persia ,SOCOM and some others to look after....a really powerful end of year for PS3 software.

Good to see an RPG getting high score on PS3, system lacks good games in this genre.

The 4th big AAA game for the PS3 this year. First MGS4, Resistance 2, LBP and now this! PS3 is kicking ass this year, Sony have got their groove back.

Loving the fact that developers have to FIGHT over my money based on how good their game is.

Isn't that how it always is? How do you normally go about deciding on game purchases?

on genre and review score. With a fixed income like 99% of people out there, I have to pick and choose what to get in a certain week.

Of course, there are games that will sell REGARDESS of how good (or bad) they are. I shall not name them here.

Hrmm... was your point just to attack the Wii or something? Not quite sure where you were going with this. Not everyone gives a crap about reviews (the ones that claim GTAIV is the greatest thing ever). Uncharted, for example, is only at 88 on metacritic.

Btw, what's this AAA thing about? What qualifies a game for AAA status, IGN? This game won't do as well on the aggregate review sites.

Either way, I hope enough people buy the game. I can't afford it any time soon, hoping this (and Eternal Sonata's) used game prices get cheap in a few months. It's nice to see Sega making a good game nowadays.

@Seraphic_Sixaxis: This game is an SRPG. It won't sell that much anywhere, it's a new IP in a niche genre.
