Forums - Gaming - What is your gaming bias?

I play any console or handheld system that has a good RPG that gets my attention, or any Resident Evil game.

Right now it's the 360 and DS. Later this year, the PSP might take over the DSs spot. Early next year when I buy another Wii, that will probably take the 360s spot. Late next year when I buy a PS3, that will probably take the Wii's spot.

I don't really care about console manufacturers. I'm in this for the games. I'm a fan of whoever produces a reasonably priced console with a good selection of games. I inevitably end up owning all major consoles every generation anyway.

Good.  We need more that get them all.

Owning two out of three ( PS3 and Wii ) and also having a 360 practically given to me, (my father in law bought it and hardly ever played it, although he was a huge Xbox original fan) thus far the winner for me is: Wii.

It has more play time and fun factor than the other two consoles. For what it's worth, I do enjoy the PS3 more than 360. But I'll level with you all, Xbox with their pandering about backwards compatability, and then attempts to repeatedly deny --several-- of their faulty hardware issues for as long as they have, really left a bad taste in my mouth.

As to hand-helds, I never was into them that much, but I recently bought a DS. So that says it all.

My gaming bias goes to the console that offers gaming at the highest quality. What Nintendo use to do before they became Nontendo. Right now I think the Playstation 3 offers a high quality gaming experiance so it's my favorite console.

When it comes to handhelds my favorite was the GBA. But now that it's pretty much dead, I don't have a favorite. There's no other handheld with a libray good enough to satisfy me. Most DS games are mini-games, and I feel like I have already bought out all the good games that arn't in the mini-game genre.

As my profile says, I'm partial to Nintendo but I go where the games are. The only exception to that rule was the PS2, which I skipped entirely. But I am sure enjoying the hell out of Odin Sphere on my PS3!

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I'm in a Nintendo phase right now and own both a Wii and a DS. I've always been a PC gamer, though, and I'm thinking of buying an Xbox 360 as soon as they put out a much needed hardware revision.

I have absolutely nothing against Sony's gaming division, and I actually think the PS3 is a cool machine with tons of untapped potential. That said, in my opinion Sony fanboys are unbearable, much more so than Nintendo or Microsoft fanboys.

My bias is probably towards Nintendo, I always look forward to their product the most before a gen starts. Last gen though after the GC came out it plummeted to third on the list of consoles for that gen - there wasnt anything great about it.

Currently my bias probably is.

1. DS (^) - Im about to get one <3
2. Wii (ˇ) - Nothing great out recently - waiting for the holy trinity =P
3. X360 (^) - 3 Year warranty was needed, better value than the PS3 in my opinion
4. PSP (-) - Never really played it to be honest.
5. PS3 (ˇ) - Overpriced and with features I dont care about - Im not ready for HD this gen.

I still have a huge love for past sega systems. I still play Saturn and Dreamcast way more than I should.

Of the current systems, the PC and X-Box 360 gets most of my attention. The DS, PSP, Wii and (to a lesser extent) the PS3 are all collecting dust.

I was incredibly excited for the Wii, I was sweating buckets just opening the box.

But now...

It's a piece of crap.

I'm liking the DS right now, but the only DS-ish game I have right now is Mario Hoops, which is terrible.

So, here's how it is...

DS: Good, but I have to be careful with choosing games.

PSP: Had fun with the GTA games, busy with other consoles though.

PS2: God's gift to the world. Had 2 of my favorite games of all time (Bully and Okami). It also has all the Grand Theft Auto games, and a game you can never get bored of, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. Easily the best console anyone could have.

Wii: The Wii is like a TV. You can spend hours of your life flipping through channels, or you could go get a movie you've seen a millions times before. If the games were $20-30 like the DS, it would be worth it. Otherwise, no.

PS3: Looks amazing, with plenty of QUALITY games, future purchase for me.

Xbox 360: *Crickets*

I'd say I have a Sony/Playstation bias, only because the other companies and their consoles have completely failed me.

I prefer Nintendo overall... I do have a PS2 though and I love it...

Home: Wii
Handheld: NDS

That's another thing I'm wondering... Some of you people say PC, well actually I prefer Mac. :P
