Lets not forget that Doom has one of the flimsiest plots even amongst video-games, and wasnt really tailor made for a Hollywood Production, as opposed to , say, Halo. I believe thus far the studios have picked the wrong games to turn into movies.

I won't consider Max Payne (as you asked so nicely lol) but can you imagine a MGS game? just the fourth major title had more cutscenes than an average movie. now fill in the back story and you'd need a trilogy at least.

Christian Bale said he was in the running to play the part of Snake in the MGS movie. He's a fantastic actor and I think he'd truly suit the role.

I think a Halo movie would require a massive budget to bring about correctly.

when did he say that? I'd like to see him or hugh jackman as snake maybe guy pearce or leo dicaprio :P.
