1- Had RROD 3 times.
2- I didn't get rid of it because of the 3 year warranty.
3- I do plan on getting the next Xbox.

One needs to understand the position MS was in with the first xbox and Nvidia screwing them over...and the timeframe they had to work with to release the 360 in order to be competitive.
MS is to blame for the RROD, but they didn't do it becuase they wanted to screw the user over...they were forced to release a 360 so fast as they couldn't make the original xbox anymore.
and on topic.
1. Had 3 Xbox360 systems - no RROD...DVD drive did die on my first one.
2. no
3. Its all about the games. PS1 was shitty piece of hardware at launch and it stopped no one from buying ps2.
1. 3 times.
2. I was always going to keep it. Free repair, I have other systems to play while it's fixed. The library makes it worth keeping.
3. more than likely.
1. 13 months and still no RROD
2. If RROD visits me one day I'll send it to Microsoft and let it fix
3. Probably. If Halo 4 would be a launch title then day 1 for me
Well I did own the ps1 and ps2. I did not have a problem with either and I had both for atleast 4 to 5 years each. I did have a friend that had a ps2 die on him but he had it for like 5+ years before that happened. I had no idea the ps1 and ps2 were not reliable.... Learn something new every day I guess.

END OF GENERATION PREDICTIONS "9-21-08"
PS3=130M 360=90M Wii=120M DS=130M PSP=70M
Other Prediction: The PS3 will overtake the 360 XMAS of 09 "9-21-08"
The reason they keep coming back is simple. They already have a large library of 360 games, why throw it away when you get to have a free console exchange after rrod? It would be stupid to just abandon the 360 because of it. And, is it sane to purchase a PS3 instead? Well, 400$ to replace your free-to-be-exchanged-360? Stupid. PS3 doesn't have as much games, and 360 has the better library in general.
1- Only once.
2- Got it fixed so qucikly that I didn't even had the time to think of changing
3- I'm no Fanboy, If Sony can come up with a better console, I might take it.
One remark, I suspect the 360 to be very sensitive to temperature.
The one I got the RROD with was stucked in a way were it couldn't get a good ventilation. When the first problem started, I putted it in a nice ventilated place and it helped it survive another month.
This happened one year ago, now it remains in a good ventilated place and I don't have any problems.
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.
once, and i kind of helped it there (because it had another though not crippling annoying error, where video would not out put requireing shutdown and wait time of 30 seconds) shipped it off to ms and got it back within 3 weeks.
i would get the next 360, hope is fully backwards compatable. and i keep it cause i love the games, same reason i have a third ps2, and second snes, though neither of those was replaced free of charge.

1. Got an RROD twice
2. Sold it when it came back from the second repair. Got an PS3, that one still works fine.
3. I doubt there will be a next Xbox. MS makes their profit with software and with the current financial crisis it will most likely be forced to drop all sectors that aren't doing to well by their shareholders who only care about money and don't give a rats ass about gamers. I personally believe that MS should have invested in making the hardware for sub notebooks (EEE pc is a sub notebook for those who don't know) instead of consoles which made them lose billions and a lot of marketshare to linux. Anyway, if they do release another it depends on specs, games and the competition.

I will give you the benefit fof the doubt even with the PS3 avatar..
1. How many times have u gotten RROD?
I have two machines one got at launch and one later that had the HDMI support, my older one had RROD only once and MS got me a new one in like a week which was a nice suprse
2. Did u get rid of your 360 cause of RROD and if so what system did u buy to replace it?
Why things break and MS has a 5 year warrenty on it would you get rid of your WII or PS3 cause it broke if they offered tio fix it for free? Am I thrilled no more testing should have been done, but that extensive warrenty was a nice gesture to 360 owners.
3. If you did get RROD do u plan on getting the next xbox?
Yes I am hoping MS learned there lesson cost them a billion dollars later to fix so I think the 720 hould be good to go, you have to remeber MS is a software comapany and does not have extensive maufacting experience like Sony. I will give them a break this ONE time
PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.
Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game
