IGN also gave it a 9.5, but MOST AMAZINGLY, EuroGamer gave it a 9/10.

That's right.

Eurogamer gave a PS3 exclusive a 9/10.

so when people say "what about the terrible core gameplay?" they have an excuse and  they  can say they were only talking about the fabulous grapics and novel level editor

 I played this game for an hour trying to give it a fair chance and spent another 2 with the level creator, but the core gameplay mechanics are just aweful,  unless they allow heavy modification of the core gameplay the user created content will never take over the world as they said,  it only has an illusion of freedom,

The gameplay isn't anywhere near Super Mario Bros 3, Kirby's Adventure or Sonic and Knuckles,

the gameplay is even up to snuff with the original Rayman.  It is closer to Zool in feel,

If this game had been during the 16 bit era without the show visuals it would have been written as a generic platformer with medicore mechanics and a level editor

Once the illusion of freedom dissapates this game will be rememberred for what it is an really pretty, but really medicore platformer,

Oh noes. Someone said something bad about LBP. Better run and hide before you're eaten alive by a horde of Sonyboys with their fingers in their ears.

Also, everyone should give that Eurogamer review a read - especially the last page, where the reviewer talks about the shortcomings of the level editor.

the game actually makes you laugh,,yea it's that fun.

 

 

 

i wont deny its fun , a good platformer is always fun, that is what got mario to teh top...

 

i think this game has goten so much hype it is goin to rake in big reviews simply on that fact alone

Yes this is the best platformer ever. It is better than Super Mario Bros 3, better than Super Mario World, better than Mario 64, better than Banjo Kazooie, better than Mario Sunshine and even better than Mario Galaxy.

I have no doubt that LBP is an awesome game but that statement is a bit of a reach.

 

 all platformers have not done anything new in the last 10 years. this is the 1st game to do so.

I dont think tha statement is any more fasle then saying "Mario Galaxy is a great game"

But only time will tell and i cant wait to get my hands on it. (LBP that is)

XEN--are you really going to try and tell me those games got this level of hype, today in my 20 mins of tv time while getting ready for work i saw 2 yes 2 LBP commercials

one was a local game store adverting it and the other was a gamestop/ebgames commercial
