You honestly think the 360 is going to only sell 1.7m between now and the end of January? Or is that fanboy hope?
Also the wii only 4.3m????
Even with the credit crunch PS3 you predict 3.3m?????
Wow. Do you know the market?

So what? Last year the Wii sold 11m in the same period. VGChartz Hardware data for the period 06th Oct 2007 to 29th Mar 2008:
It's still unknown how great the demand for the Wii is in America, 17m in worldwide sales during the next six months seem to be possible, because the Wii's sales have increased greatly year over year (with the exception of Japan). |
What? OP says Jan 09. Where the hell did March 29th come from.
Look at my sig... but, i think than i could make one last update next week.
End of 2011 (made 02/01/11)
Wii: 99.453 m
Xbox 360: 67.837 m
Ps 3: 60.726 m
Best Games/Serie of the Generation

From Nintendo's target for the current fiscal year which would bring the Wii to a total of 51m shipped to retail. I brought that up because several people including the OP are predicting low Wii numbers (40-41m) by the end of January, but 46-47m would be a more reasonable prediction. |
Hmm. You may have a point. My prediction may be low for the wii. Then Crunch may hurt sales slightly. But I doubt it. If the child wanted a PS3 then the wii will probably be chosen more of the 360 more often. Unless say in UK they really wanted Fifa 09 in which case 360 would be chosen. But I think you may be on to something here.
PS3 22 million
360 25 million
Wii I don't care.
PS3 will go through the roof in Europe this holiday, thanks to LBP.
That game alone will easily sell 3 million in Europe and make PS3's fly off the shelves.

Just look at my last post - if the Wii does anything under 41.3 mil, you're looking at a DECLINE in sales from last year. It wouldn't make much sense, considering Nintendo is shipping a ton more this year (and they were supply constrained last year).
I'll throw in my predictions while I'm at it:
Wii - 46.5
360 - 26.5
PS3 - 21
(end of Jan 09)
edit: I love how some fans of the HD consoles "don't care" about the Wii sales. Sore losers... they'd be happy to include it if it weren't dominating so hard.
PS3: 22 million (passes Gamecube, third place console last generation)
360: 26 million (passes Xbox1, second place console last generation)
Wii: 46 million (does not pass PS2, first place console last generation)
Clearly, the Wii has failed. Also, my numbers put the Wii at ~2 million behind the PS3/360 combined total by end of January.
