Forums - Nintendo - Wii Fit Demonstration: I Smiled Like A Kid!

Let it load, it's not long. Looks like too much fun.

looks kool the balance board would do well with mercuary meltdown, dewys adventure, super mokeyball, and games of that nature

You might read this and think its a typical non-nintendo fan response, but I am disappointed simply because I thought it would detect full body motion not just shifting of weight. Plus I'm sure I'm over its weight limit :(.

Interesting.

it guesses your motion based on pressure from your feet.

So, it can detect if you're leaning and such, but not your arms.

The board is a controller for your feet, not your body, technically speaking.

Again, not really for me...I'll try it out, but I'm probably not going to play this game too much.  It does look a bit fun though.

I'm more excited about more traditional games utilizing the WiiBoard.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Looks interesting, the one that looks like fun is the ski game. And the soccer game.

@theshoe23: Frank Caron of Arstechnica talked with a Nintendo rep that told him it would sustain something in the range of 3000lbs (more than a tonne). This is probably so it can withstand small jumps without breaking, but if true means there really shouldn't be any weight problems.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

Hmm... I was a little reserved on this, but the skiing, soccer, and anything after the first bit looks fun enough.

P.S. Although how much is this gonna be together with the WiiBalance Board?

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

A pricing was shown at some retail store, of $69US. May or may not be real.

...

I actually really need this thing. My balance is terrible, and always has been. This will help me get back into Yoga as well.

I like that Nintendo seem to have created another "WiiSports" variant for the device - lots of fun games, and more. Not just an exercise game.

...

Miyamoto also mentioned after Japanese testing/dev was done, they would see if they need to develop a special one for the US market.

...

I would love to see a much larger version - several meters square. Maybe get a large flat panel, four of these things - stick one on each corner. Then you might be able to detect walking motions, jumps, twists, etc. Turn it into a martial arts trainer!
