Forums - Gaming - SRPGs similar to Disgaea series and Final Fantasy Tactics?

@Torillian

I was thinking about La Pucelle as I already own the game, if Fire Emblem is really that hard, my girlfriend might kill me.

@Diomedes1976

I have actually been trying to talk her into Jeanne D'arc.

My girlfriend prefers a game with humor and possible love story, I guess Nippon Ichi is the only way to go then. I doubt Fire Emblem has humor, it is more serious isn't it?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

If she hasn't played FF:Tactics make sure you get her War of the Lions. It is the definitive version. The new script and cutscenes really do make the game quite a bit more enjoyable than the original romp.

^ I am really looking into that.

We are going up to Gamestop in a few minutes, she is hell bent on Phantom Brave for some reason so we need to check for it.

If you own a GBA you have to try Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis

Seconded.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Never played the Gamecube version, but the series is usually a mix of love and war. Also characters death are permanent. ( I am talking about Fire Emblem)

I think the Disgaea series is probably the best around [my opinion]. I hear that Fire Emblem is pretty interesting.

Jeanne d'Arc and FF Tactics: War of the Lions are the way to go for PSP

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Hmm.... and is your girl friend just doing to stories and just doesn't bother with all the extra content in dissgaea???

Spectral Force 3 is pretty fun. The graphics might not be the best though.
