I think the Sony "hate" would be due to Sony being on top the last couple of generations. There was some smack talk about Nintendo after it lost to Sony as well - it's people laughing at failure of the former champ. Schadenfreude...

So is that the same reason why there was Nintendo hate?  Because they dominated the 8 and 16-bit eras then ended up in second, then third, in the 5th and 6th generations, respectively?

If that's the case, then people are immature.  I also remember Tretton saying (along the lines of), "Because we dominated the last 2 generations, people were waiting for us to mess up.  Now people just make lies about the PS3 just because we were first the last 2 generations..."  Again, this is not a direct quote (meaning not exactly), but that really screams cockiness.

I think it's their arrogance that has brought them down and also has lead to some hate.

Actually MS had a deal with Square that would of made FFXIII exclusive to the 360 but Sony money hated Square Enix...

 You must have missed that press conference in E32006 when FFXIII and FFXIII Versus were announced as PS3 exclusives.

You must have missed how SO4 was announced in SO1 and SO2 in the PSP in Japan....I see difficult that Sony allowed publicity for a rival console game in the PSP games dont you think+

One last thing ....if you want to look at a load of crap look at the mirror guy ,and wash your mouth before being so unpolite.

 

And I'm guessing you think Sony paid Capcom and 2K to bring Lost Planet and Bioshock to the PS3.. right?

I mean those two games where announced exclusives to the 360 but then where ported over to the PS3.

I'm sure Sony probably broke the bank getting Enchanted Arms on the PS3 too.

 

And I wonder how much Nintendo paid for Dead Rising...Holy crap.. the money hatting is just out of control this generation!!

I don't hate any console, although I hate MS for its greed and power lust and I feel deceived by PS3 scarce main RAM that prevented it from becoming a true living room general purpose computer, I hoped PS3 could start an IT revolution, it didn't happen.

I'm not sure; PSP may have lost to DS but its still a great system and has a fantastic library... its future content is thinning, sure, but older used games are much cheaper on PSP than DS. PSP also has good music and movie playback.
PS3 has several good games coming out this fall as well, and is invaluable as a blu ray player... my dad is actually kind of upset that I got a 360 over PS3 becuase he wanted a blu ray player lol...
I think people don't hate on sony that much. Its more that they expect Sony to do terribly this holiday season. This isn't hate, its more like sound speculation. PSP barely sells any software in EU (its strongest hardware market) and mainly sells as a multimedia/ piracy machine. In japan PSP has regained momentm, but there is a good chance that it will be squished by DSi. PSP is ok in NA, and has decent software as well, but WW the picture is fairly bad. PS3 has no chance against a $200 and a $250 console when the economy is this soft. Little Big Planet may be great and will probably sell at least quite well and get great reviews, but it won't draw in that many sales as both Wii and 360 have a very good platfofremr out this fall.

Take a look around at some of the "pro" 360 threads. I posted a thread called "Looks like the 360 price cut had some effect" a week or so ago. There wasn't any mention of "domination". No negative statement about the PS3.

But it wasn't long before PS3 fans were beating on the thread to say:

1. The "effect" wasn't going to last, and the PS3 would be outselling the 360 again soon
2. The "effect" was a failure, i.e. - the percentage boost in sales was too low.

So, don't feel bad about someone saying negative things about the PS3. There's plenty o' hate going around about all the platforms, and the PS3 now has enough momentum that it should be a long-term success (I don't know if Sony (or MS for that matter) will every recoup the losses this generation, but that's another thread topic).

Unconditional perhaps, but Ninty are defintaley getting the most love all in all. Almost any thread reveals that.

Possibly because their games and hardware are usually on time, cheaper than the competition and live up to the expectations of their intended audience? It's not hard to come out with what their market want, but MS and Sony seem to be having a hard time delivering.

 

 

GC didn't live up to my expectations; 2005-2006 was rough having only GBA and GC. N64 at least got Paper mario and conker and a few other great games in 2000-2001. GC got... chibi robo, shadow the hedghog, and fire emblem (good, game but I could only play it for 2 months before it got boring)

i love sony and the playstation.

i hate microsoft but not the 360 even though i dont want one. only time i hate the 360 is when 360 fanboys think their little 360 is god and when reviewers are biased as hell hating on the ps3 and its games.
