I was looking at a sales comparison for the three consoles, and saw two points that the PS3 had beaten the Wii in WW weekly sales.

1) June 15th 2008- MGS4. Just about beat the Wii.

2) 25th March 2007. Completely destroyed the wii. The PS3 got almost 600k sales and the wii got some 200k. What happened here?

EDIT: I've discovered that Oblivion was released on March 20th 2007. But that only got 700k sales. Could that be the reason? Until GTA4 it was the highest rated PS3 game on GameSpot.

Wait it only sold 600k in a whole continent on launch week?

Could of been the 400,000+ units sold in PAL territories that week.

And yes, what's wrong with 600,000 units in one week at launch? The Xbox 360 sold under 100,000 on it's launch week in North America.

Honestly, Sony had one of, if not the, best launches in a single territory in history. The fact that they sold 400k+ cannot be reduced by any sort of thing other than amazement: Never before had a system opened by selling so many units in a week. We may never see that many at one time get sold again at launch.

Sony had a fantastic EU launch week even allowing for enough stock to meet demand in the first month.

Well dunno guess it was kinda interesting.

Ps3 sold 532K in Others, and 68K combined in Americas + Japan, so Europe launch pretty much did everything.

600k in 3 days is pretty good.
